Synchronization Tag implementation is intended for advanced developers familiar with PHP and WordPress development.
Because of the vast amount of WordPress themes available, we are unable to provide detailed support for each. Due to the changing nature of themes and WordPress itself, the following article is provided as an example only . If you have any questions about where to place your IDX start and stop tags, please contact your theme designer or an advanced HTML or WordPress theme developer.

Note: If you don't already have the IDX Broker plugin installed, you may download it here. If you decide not to use the plugin, click here to view the code that you will need to add to your functions.php file.

Synchronization tags tell IDX Broker how to extract the header and footer from your blog in order to automatically integrate your blog design into the IDX pages. Once you have added tags to your theme, we recommend that you take advantage of the Real-Time URL Wrapper available within IDX Broker.


Below are instructions for how to add the start and stop tags to Atahualpa WordPress theme:
  1. To add your start and stop tags, first go to your Wordpress Theme Editor.
     
  2. Next, click on Main Index Template (index.php) to open your Theme file in the WordPress Editor.
     
  3. In this example, we are using the Atahualpa theme. You need to add your header tags with a <div> tag "before the loop."

     
  4. Now you must do the same for the footer.  

  5. If you have added your tags correctly, you should now be able to tell IDX Broker which URL to use when synchronizing your IDX pages.
