You can now customize the labels for property types within IDX Broker. This can be useful if your MLS or market area typically uses terminology different than the standardized labels we display by default. For example, the property-type drop down menu on your basic search page will typically include an option for "Single Family Residential." With this new feature, you could rename that property type to "Homes and Condos" or something similar. Choose whatever is best for your website and your customers!

To begin, go to My Preferences -> Global Preferences -> Search Options in your control panel. Near the top of the page, in the first set of options, you will see a button that says Set Names. Click here.



A dialog will open with spaces for each of the property types supported in your MLS. Next to the default name, enter your custom name. Feel free to leave any entry blank - this will simply display the default name.



Click the Save Custom Names button when finished.

Changing your property type labels will affect the following pages where property type labels are frequently displayed:
