May 2011 IDX Broker Office Newsletter

This month's focus is on Agent Sub Headers, the iPhone/iPad App available to your Agents, and how to add fields to your sign up form.

First, we'll cover Agent Sub Headers. There is a special code that your Agents may append to the end of YOUR search page URLs. This special code (&agentHeaderID=) gives your Agents two things - lead capture and co-branding on your site! Read more about this feature in the first article below.

The last two articles discuss how to promote your myAgent Application for iOS, and how to add custom fields to your lead signup form.

Best regards,
The IDX Team

Agent Tagging

Each agent in your Office IDX account, is assigned a unique tag for co-branding and assigning leads via your account. This tag may be appended to the end of ANY of your IDX URLs. When a site visitor clicks on a tagged page link, the agent's custom header will appear at the top of every IDX page visited. If a contact form is filled out, that lead will automatically be assigned to that agent!

Where to Find the Tag

Your Agents' Sub Header tags are located in your Control Panel under Manage Users/Offices -> Manage Users. Click on an Agent's name and scroll down the to the User Permissions preferences. The Sub Header tag and an example link are displayed in a box in that section.

Agents may use their Sub Header tag with any IDX page link. Do your Agents like to post a link to a new listing on Twitter or Facebook? They may simply add this tag to the end of any property details page link:

Some agents may send regular emails to potential buyers with a link to customized search results. They may tag those pages as well:

If Agents link to your IDX search pages, and add their tag, their custom Sub Header containing their text, images, or links will show up at the top of each page!

As Agents market your Office website using their unique Agent Tag, you will be rewarded with traffic, and the Agents will be rewarded with an IDX search solution for their clients, and leads!

myAgent Options

Included with all IDX Broker Office Accounts is a Brandable myAgent IDX iOS App. You may promote this App on your Office website with the special Widget provided in your IDX Broker Control Panel.

In addition to your own Office code, you may also give all of your Agents their own Agent code and their own App! Anybody who installs the Agent's code will be shown the Agent's name and contact information. In contrast to some of the Apps that include non-MLS data, the listings displayed in the App are relevant, and for sale. This makes the myAgent iOS App a powerful sales tool for your Agents who are in the field, and notice that a client is using an iPad or iPhone. The App comes with a "Find me" target, allowing the user to instantly navigate to homes near them. When they are ready to tour a home, the App displays the name of YOUR Agent, YOUR Office logo/website address, and YOUR Agent's email address/phone number.

Setting it Up
There are a few customization options available for the myAgent App that you should know about. These options may be found under the Mobile tab in your control panel.

First, you can choose the background color your iPhone/iPad users see when they launch myAgent. You can enter in a 6-digit color code, or use the color picker provided to choose the exact color you want.

Your company logo will automatically display within the app. If you have not previously uploaded a custom logo, you can do that in your Global Preferences.

The contact information displayed in the app will pull from the Contact Info page in the Account Management section of your IDX control panel. The company name displayed in the app will match the Display Name field on this screen. You can set that to display the name of your office, team, or whatever you see fit. Be sure to check here and make sure your contact information is accurate.

Add Questions to Your Sign Up Form

IDX Broker's lead signup form provides fields to capture basic information from your website visitors. When following up with leads, some of these fields may be more important to your office than others. You may easily choose which fields are required, optional, or hidden in the Lead Registration Preferences area of IDX Broker.

A preview of your form will display to the right with your custom questions at the bottom. Here, you can use the arrows to order your custom questions, and remove any that are no longer needed.

Once the custom questions are added in your control panel, they will display right on your lead signup form on your website. In the example below, we've added two custom questions - a simple "How did you hear about us?" question, and also a general comments field.

Adding custom questions to your lead signup form is an easy way to collect additional key information about your site visitors.
