Welcome to our January IDX Broker newsletter!
After launching new lead routing and management functionality in October, the myAgent iPhone application in November, and a host of small updates in December, we decided it was time to actually get some work done. Here's what you can look forward to over the new few months:
- Mobile applications for additional phones - Android & Blackberry to be specific.
- A more comprehensive program to help you resell the $499 custom mobile iPhone application. The margin on these apps is great, especially for those of you in the 45% bracket. An entirely new product revenue stream for you!

DNS Control - Now you have the ability to create your own root domain or subdomain for all IDX pages available in your account. This new feature will soon allow you to create and manage your own domain or subdomain that is dedicated to your specific IDX pages, giving your domain even more SEO juice. With the new custom domain tool, you will be able to point a domain or subdomain (e.g., search.realestateclient.com or even just realestateclient.com) to our server IP. A quick verification in the IDX Control Panel to ensure that the DNS record is correct, and your clients have a custom branded domain or subdomain without any reference to the idxco.com domain in the address bar.
On a related note, it has come to our attention that some of you may be using a mod_rewrite or cloaking function to mask the idxco.com domain currently. If you are currently using this method, it is highly recommended that you switch to this new supported custom domain method as soon as it is available in the IDX Control Panel next week. By mid-February we have a new security update going live that will essentially block any mod_rewrite or domain cloaking specific functions if those are being used. If you have questions or concerns regarding any of your existing code and how this may affect your websites, please contact us immediately so that we can help you effectively manage this transition.

Manage Column Labels
You can change the labels that display for each field on your advanced search page. To do so, go to Customize --> Advanced Search in your control panel.
Click the Manage Column Labels link near the top of the page. You will be taken to a list of all the available fields, with a text input next to each field name.
For those you wish to rename, just enter the desired label in the text box. Leave all others blank. When finished, click the Update button at the bottom of the page. This will update the labels on both advanced search and details pages.
